Legislative Reports for 2001

May 18, 2001-Jefferson City MO- Legislative Session Closed

Brief synopsis as follows with more to follow as it becomes available.

HB70-Helmet modification bill did not pass. Last minute fillibuster by Senator Westfall and more amendments by Senator Singleton about to be presented put Senator Staples in the position of having to lay the bill back on the informal calendar and so a vote was not taken.

HB420 which ended the termination clause of the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program was removed and is on Governor Holden desk.

SCS for HB3 which finances higher education for fiscal year 2002 includes funding of $150,000.00 for the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program is also on the Governor's desk. Funding is included as part of Central Missouri State University budget.
